Our Story

Founded in 1987 by Kaz Kobayashi, Kobay has deep ties to Japan. As a skilled tool and die engineer who helped design Honda's first car, Kobayashi’s expertise led to strong relationships with Japanese automakers in North America. Today, over 60% of our products are featured in Honda vehicles.

Kobay operates two state-of-the-art facilities: a 137,000-square-foot plant in Toronto, Ontario, and a 66,000-square-foot site, Kobay South LLC, in Oxford, Alabama.

We have established a distinctive role in the automotive parts supply chain by pioneering the concept of a Tier 1.5 supplier to bridge the gap between Tier 1 and Tier 2 by providing advanced engineering and process development.

Delivering Unique Engineering Solutions

Understanding the need for Tier 2 capabilities to enhance engineering, advanced process development, and design, we specialize in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of complex welded assemblies and stampings, particularly in seat assembly.

Today, Kobay distinguishes itself in the automotive parts supply chain by delivering comprehensive end-to-end assembly solutions.
